The moulds are manufactured using flexible, durable 30-mil plastic and last for many pours. They come on a 23cm x 23cm sheet of clear PVC, and can be used for all types of soap-making (cold and hot process, rebatch and melt & pour). The moulds are suitable for use with not only soap, but also clay, plaster, chocolate and wax.
The moulds should be cleaned using warm tap water and soap (if they've been used for soapmaking, simply soak in warm water). Hot water, including dishwasher water may warp the plastic!
Pour Temperatures: The moulds can tolerate wax and soap temperatures of 55-63 ?C.
Unmolding If you have difficulty removing soap or chocolate, place the moulds in your freezer. A few minutes should be sufficient for chocolate and 30 minutes for soap. Soap should however be left in the mould for 24 hours.
Each tray mold holds approximately 900g of soap and can be cut to make either 8 or 9 bars of soap, depending on the design. |
